   I do believe that there is a lot of information both good and bad  out there about fibromyalgia. As an educator who specializes in this area, I think it is my job to point out to you that beneficial information can be organized in a fashion that will reduce the symptoms of this malady. 

    My name is Amanda Elise Love and  I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia 9 years ago which influenced my decision to enter the field of nutrition and now I am a Registered Holistic Nutritionist who works with those who are suffering from fibromyalgia.

 So, what role do I play in regards to your health?  This is an interesting area to discuss because of the misunderstanding of the ways that I can help improve your health. 

  First, as a graduate of the Candian School of Natural Nutrition, I’m trained to recognize the interaction between the mind, body, and spirit which is specific to each person and each must be addressed in order for the person to regain good health and wellbeing. CSNN  graduates are nutritional consultants who typically believe that by identifying a client’s symptoms through their health history it will indicate health deficiencies. Then we provide individualized health plans which include nutrient-dense whole foods, lifestyle recommendations, and natural source supplements in order to bring the clients health back to a state of wellbeing.

  Here is a simple example :

  If I were a Nutritionist in the 16’s  I would be advising the sailors crossing the Atlantic to be sure to consume as much fresh fruit and vegetables as possible in order to prevent the dreaded bone loss condition of Rickets. These foods contain just the vitamins they need to prevent the bone softening of this disease.  In the same sense today, I would be advising a client about their health concerns with the right food choices and right supplements to improve their condition. 

    Furthermore,  holistic nutrition is a special combination of modern science and time tested wisdom based on the philosophy that each person has uniques nutritional requirements to maintain good health. As nutritionists, we are educators in wellness and prevention. My training focused on the connections between a client’s symptoms and the body systems (such as Immune and Respiratory Systems ) which are affecting their health.  The focus was also on whole foods and quality food production and processes, natural supplements, healthy lifestyle practices and the connections between the body, mind, and spirit. I’m also trained to recognize food intolerances and allergies, blood sugar functions and multiple causes of inflammation, which are the source of many common conditions. 

  Untlatimelty, we assess our clients’ health through one-on-one consultations and focused questionnaires, and then provide health and lifestyle recommendations that are tailored to the individual’s needs.

Holistic Nutritional Consultants create individual meal plans and recipes for their clients, teach them to decode food labels to help them make optimal food choices and provide them with food shopping advice and information. Some also provide cooking and food preparation lessons. They assess their client’s stress, exercise, alcohol consumption, sleep, relaxation, and overall lifestyle practices, along with other factors and monitor their clients’ progress towards their individual health goals. Most importantly, CSNN graduates encourage self-responsibility by empowering clients through personalized education and information.

 We are also conscientious and well informed about recent studies that alert the public to the harmful effects of health aids. Here are two recent examples of this : 

  1. Last week information was released concerning the effects of an ingredient found in antacids such as Zantac. This ingredient has been found to be a source of cancer-related disease. 
  2. The prior week, a study performed in San Diego demonstrated that of the top ten online sales of CBD oil products there were 3 found to contain no CBD oil at all. The only way to know the strength and amount in the product is to have it analyzed by a certified laboratory because there are no regulations in place. But how many of us can afford to do that?

As a Registered Holistic Nutritionist, I not only give you the recommendations to help you but I also support you in following the recommendations that I give.   For example, your doctor might tell you that he wants you to have a better-balanced diet but gives you no information or an individualized plan to do this. Many people think they already eating healthy but do not know the complexity of eating well. One person recently said, “ I had fibromyalgia for twenty-five years and I just found out it was my diet all along .” I believe that usually that a person’s diet plays a major role in fighting FMS. But I would go a step further and say that the right supplements are crucial to include in the battle along with lifestyle changes. . 

  My goal in this calling is to reduce your suffering and add renewed joy and vigor to your life. I have done the research and so you don’t have to. I will give you the plan and then you have to take action to reach your health goals.
