If you buy a big mix of nuts you can put together your own mixed nuts and trail mix bags.
Oats Are Everywhere
How do you feel about oats for something other than breakfast? Oats are a common food ingredient in a lot of countries, so it makes sense that it can appear in many different forms. Sometimes it can appear in the form of something like meatloaf. Sometimes oats will show up as a part of a stuffing for meat of some kind. If you were to use it in a meatloaf during your time out, it would require you to have to grind it yourself, or find someone to do it for you, so while it might not always be practical, it’s at least probable. While you are oat traveling, you can always whip up a bowl of hot oats with some cinnamon and a pinch of sugar.

It’s always a good idea to bring some tools that make the food prep process more streamlined, and having a knife options up many of your food options. Things like a knife and a cutting board can simplify the process because you can even pull over and do it in your lap in the car. Doing it while driving is not a good idea. In fact, it would probably be a good idea to keep much of that in a case that will keep the contents somewhat secure so that knives don’t go flying because you fishtailed the vehicle for a few feet on a patch of icy road.

If you were able to find some fruits and vegetables locally, then you should be sure to get a good amount of anything that you can easily hold in your hand. Fresh fruits and vegetables can keep without being kept cold for a few days. Many fruits can even be peeled, cut up , or stored in a way that makes them easy to snack on. If you brought the cutting board then you have an easy way to cut up fruits and vegetables. Fruit salads are a great treat when you get to a resting spot where you can enjoy the view.
Keep It Simple
The best thing to do here is to keep things as simple as possible. Make your meals before you go out, and be sure that they’re simple. Some veggie based pasta that’s been cooked and tossed with olive oil, garlic and salt can go a long way.
